For shopping, you can't beat Aimaleigh's Boutique. This women's clothing store and gift shop provides unique gifts you don't see anywhere else. It is a great place to pick up a few items for your loved ones and check things off your gift list for friends and loved ones.
The Chesapeake Golf Club is perfect for a nice round of golf with your friends. Make sure to take in the splendor of the course itself. It is surrounded by the natural beauty of the area.
Things to Do
Get into the excitement of local attractions and check out some of the events and activities in the Chesapeake area. For springtime fun, head to the Chesapeake Arboretum and enjoy the 48-acres that are dedicated to promoting horticultural and environmental awareness. While there, enjoy the Stewartia grove, which is only visible in the spring. And don’t forget your camera! This area includes one of Virginia’s finest trail systems that is part of the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail South Chesapeake Loop.
To enjoy the outdoors, be sure to visit the Dismal Swamp Canal and Canal Trail. The Dismal Swamp Canal Trail is a multi-purpose trail for all bicyclists, joggers, and horse riders. This area also includes the Great Dismal Swamp Refuge, a resting spot for thousands of migratory birds in the spring and fall. Additionally, the Swamp is nationally recognized as a stop on the "Underground Railroad."
Chesapeake is home to many farms for family fun and activities. From May through September, there are almost 2,000 peach trees ready to pick at Mount Pleasant Farms as well as peaches and other fruits and vegetables at Greenbrier Farms. In the fall, gather friends and family for fun at Hickory Ridge Farm where you’ll find 18 acres of pumpkin patches, hayrides, a corn maze, and more, or return to Greenbrier Farms, for haunting attractions – if you’re brave enough!
